Workshop on Social Marketing for Project Personnel of CHETNA, Ahmedabad (July - August 1997)

Centre for Health Education, Training and Nutrition Awareness (CHETNA), Ahmedabad sponsored the workshop. Organising and conducting a three-day workshop aimed to provide the project personnel of CHETNA, an NGO working in women's health sector, a walk-thru of the social marketing process from conceptualizing an idea, developing campaigns, implementation issues, to monitoring and evaluation.

Training on Customer Appreciation in Retail and Entertainment (CARE) I & II (January 2001 - June 2001)

Commissioned by E-City Entertainment (I) Private Limited, Mumbai, two rounds of training were conducted by TALEEM for 190 customer service personnel at the supervisory and staff level for Fun Republic, a multiplex launched in Ahmedabad. The training components included customer care, cinema, retail stores, food and beverages, personality development, sales and marketing.

Training for Mahila Margdarshan Kendra Personnel (December 10, 2002 - March 24, 2003) photo 21

Women and Child Development Department, Government of Gujarat, Gandhinagar sponsored the training programme. The objective of the training workshop was to orient the Mahila Margdarshan Kendra (MMK) personnel to the objectives of the programmes, apprise them of the various government and non government schemes developed for economic empowerment of women through skill improvement, training and self employment opportunities. Also to develop counseling skills of the MMK personnel and help them create and maintain relevant information bases and provide feedback to the department. To better facilitate the 215 personnel, spread across 75 NGOs throughout the state, Nine trainings were conducted in different regions of Guajrat namely Central (Ahmedabad), South (Navsari) and West (Anand).

Workshop on Tobacco Control Capacity Building (January 24, 2004 - January 25, 2004)

PATH Canada, CPAA, King Gorge Memorial, E. Moses Road, Mahalakshmi, Mumbai sponsored the workshop. The PATH Canada is a non-governmental organization whose goal is to improve health, especially the health of women and children, in developing region of the world. Organizational mission of PATH Canada is to increase the effectiveness, availability and appropriateness of practices and technologies used in primary health care. The broad objective of the workshop was to orient and induct women working in various NGOs about tobacco control.

Workshop on Interpersonal Communication for Health Care Providers (May 28, 2004 - May 29, 2004)

Integrated Population and Development Project, Bhuj entrusted TALEEM to organize a two days workshop for their staff which includes Block Extension Educators, Staff Nurses, Doctors and Health Counselors. The job profile of the staff is to provide health care and counseling to the clients for family planning and other matters. Interpersonal communication (IPC) plays a pivotal role in their day-to-day activities with their clients and thus to develop the best interpersonal communication skills among them was a main objective of the workshop.

Workshop on Behaviour Change Communication for Health Care Providers (July 29, 2004 - July 31, 2004)

Integrated Population and Development Project, Kutch entrusted TALEEM to organize a three days workshop for their staff which includes Block Extension Educators, Staff Nurses, Medical Service Providers, District Gazette Officials, Health Counselors, Laboratory Technicians and Drivers. The main objective of the workshop was to enhance the understanding of the process of communication and to enhance the communication skills.

Training Programme for Self-Help Groups under Swarnajayanthi Gram Sarojgar Yojna (September 2004 – February 2005) photo 23, 24, 22

A training programme for Self-Help Groups under Swarnajayanthi Gram Sarojgar Yojna was sponsored by the Commissioner, Rural Development, and Government of Gujarat. This training programme was primarily to develop essential competencies among SHG members for effective implementation of micro-finance and helping the SHG groups in poverty alleviation, empowerment and social mobilization.

Seminar on ‘Building ICT Capacity in Uttaranchal Universities for Community Development (UUICT Project)’:

The Foundation in collaboration with Cornell University, USA, a Planning Meeting to discuss on ‘BUILDING ICT CAPACITY IN UTTARANCHAL UNIVERSITIES FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT (UUICT Project)’ was organized. The two-day Seminar was held at Dehradun on January 12-13, 2006.

The purpose of the meeting was to share the broad outlines of the initiative with important stakeholders, and gain advice and support from those attending. The deliberations and discussions will contribute to a start up plan and guidelines for the project. Participating in the Dehradun meeting will be representatives of local, state and national governments, as well as persons from higher education institutions and non-governmental organizations in Uttaranchal and other states.

State Level Training Programme on Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection) of Children Act 2000 (October 2006)

A three day training programme was organized for sensitizing Police officials, members of the Juvenile Justice Board, members of Child Welfare Committee and officials of Social Defense to understand the provisions of Juvenile Justice Act 2000 as a part of children and adolescent care of Gujarat State, National Institute of Social Defense, Government of India, New Delhi and Directorate of Social Defense, Gandhinagar had sponsored the training. In total 43 participants from various government departments of the state attended this training.

Capacity Building training Programmes for Tribal women Sarpanch /and members of Village Panchayat. (May to June 2007)

A training programme for Tribal Women Sarpanch, members of village Panchayats was sponsored by Council for Advancement of People’s Action and Rural Technology (CAPART), Ahmedabad. This training programme was primarily to develop essential competences among elected Mahila Sarpanch and women members of Gram Panchayat for effective implementation of the Panchayat Raj Act and helping them to understand their roles and responsibilities in (the) implementation of various schemes and programmes of Rural Development. In all 296 elected women Panchayat Members (Tribal) were trained.

Capacity Building (Job Chart) Training Programme for Gram Mitra (Jan Kalyan) (May – ongoing 2008) photo 25, 26, 26A

Seventy Six Capacity Building trainings for Gram Mitra (Jan Kalyan) of the Tribal Development Department were sponsored by the Commissioner, Tribal Development, Government of Gujarat. This programme was primary to develop essential compliances among Gram Mitra (Jan Kalyan) to perform their roles and responsibilities effectively in addressing the tribal development issues of Gujarat State. Gram Mitra (Jan Kalyan) of 12 tribal dominated districts in 43 talukas of the State were covered. In all 1736 Gram Mitras were trained.

Regional Training on Counselling Skills for Street Educators (March 2-6, 2009)

The training programme was sponsored by National Institute of Social Defense, New Delhi and Director of Social Defense, Gujarat. The training was for 40 street educators on the subjects of child rights, problems of street children and to develop counseling skills for helping them.

Specified Care for Children Infected and Affected by HIV/AIDS (March 25-27, 2009)

The training programme was sponsored by National Institute of Social Defense, New Delhi and Director of Social Defense, Gujarat. The training was for 42 government and NGO functionaries on the subjects of Care and protection of Children infected and affected with HIV/AIDS, intervention strategies.

Career and Counseling Programme of Tribal Students of Gujarat (August 2010 – ongoing)

Commissioned by Tribal Development Department, Govt. of Gujarat, Gandhinagar, the counseling programmes is to sensitize 10,000 Tribal Students of class VIII-XII of Gujarat about various courses and career options.
